• Exams cannot be attended illegally by providing false information
• Answer sheets cannot be taken out of the examination room
• The cover or page of the answer sheet cannot be changed
• Duplication cannot be done in the examination hall
• No obstruction or disturbance of any kind shall be allowed in the examination hall

Penalties for breaking discipline in the examination hall include cancellation of the corresponding year’s exam, cancellation of the next year’s exam, etc. Therefore, all the students are requested to finish the exam by maintaining order in the exam hall.

Who can participate in Honors First Year Exam 2023?

Students are required to participate in the Honours 1st Year Exam Form Fill Up 2023 subject to certain conditions. However, there is one condition for regular examinees and different conditions for irregular examinees and grade improvement students.

Conditions For Regular Students

• Firstly, the Honours course for all students registered under the National University in the academic year 2021-22
• Secondly, students who have completed the course as per regulations
• Thirdly, 2013-2014 and 2014-2015 academic years as a regular student in Honors in first year of 2022

Conditions For Irregular Students

• Students who appeared in the Honors 1st year examination in the academic year 2018-19, 2019-20, and 2020-21 have been not-promoted.
• Or did not participate in the exam.
• Not Promoted Candidates are not required to re-examine courses approved in the previous year.
• But those who participated in the exam for the first time in Honors first year in 2021 and got C grade or D grade.
• In the 2022 examination, a maximum of two papers will be given an opportunity to improve the grade.
• Students will get an opportunity to take the exam in all the subjects that have an F grade.

Improvement Exam Student’s Conditions

• Firstly, 2021 Honors 1st year candidates who appear for the first time as regular irregular examination are promoted to 2nd year.
• Those students will be able to take improvement exam off only in courses with C and D grade.
• However, there will be an opportunity to participate in the examination in maximum two papers.
• Those students who have participated in Honors first-year examination in 2015-16, 2016-17, 2017-18, 2018-19, 2019-20, and 2020-21 academic years and got promotions to second year but have F grade in any subject.
• All F-graded courses have to improve to a minimum grade of D by examination.

Special Permission for 2013-14, 2014-15 Students

All the students who have academic year 2013-14 and 2014-15. And all these students have F Grade in one or more subjects. All these students will get the opportunity of Honours 1st Year Exam Form Fill Up 2023 and honours exam in 2023 but subject to some conditions.

Candidates for the academic year 2013-14 and 2014-15 will fill out the form and participate in the exam by paying a total of taka 5000.

All these students are given more opportunities. Such as no need to renew their registration to participate in the examination. But this time if the students fail to participate in the examination in the mentioned academic year or fail to participate in the examination then they will not get the opportunity to participate in the examination in any case.

• 80% or above A+ (Plus) 4.00
• 75% to less than 80% A (Plain) 3.75
• 70% to less than 75% A- (Minus) 3.50
• 65% to less than 70% B+ (Plus) 3.25
• 60% to less than 65% B (Plain) 3.00
• 55% to less than 60% B- (Minus) 2.75
• 50% to less than 55% C+ (Plus) 2.50
• 45% to less than 50% C (Plain) 2.25
• 40% to less than 45% D (Plain) 2.00
• <40%(less than 40%) F (Fail) 0.00

The National University class grading system follows the British undergraduate degree classification (GPA and Class Grading System). GPA above or equal to 3 is equal to 1st Class in Honours degree in Bangladesh. This means,

• NU Academic CGPA 3.00 to 4.00 = 1st Class
• Academic CGPA 2.25 to 2.99 = 2nd Class
• Academic CGPA 2.00 to 2.249 = 3rd Class

We can see here if you get CGPA of 3.00 to 4.00 points then your result will count as first class. Then if you achieve CGPA 2.25 to 2.99 then your result will be counted as second class. And finally, 2.00 to 2.249 CGPA is counted as a third-class result.
